Netflix has now released a tantalizing sneak peek of the upcoming murder mystery comedy titled “The Thursday Murder Club“. This intriguing production is set to debut for streaming on Thursday, August 28th, and will be available solely on Netflix.
The Thursday Murder Club introduces us to four lively retirees – Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley), and Joyce (Celia Imrie) – who enjoy puzzling over unsolved murder mysteries as a pastime. However, when an enigmatic death occurs in their very neighborhood, their leisurely detective work takes an exhilarating turn as they find themselves tangled in a genuine whodunit.

What happens in the Thursday Murder Club teaser trailer?
The video presents Pierce Brosnan, a past Golden Globe nominee, as Ron, a former union activist, and Helen Mirren, an Academy Award winner, as Elizabeth, a retired spy. Their shared interest in solving cold case murders unexpectedly leads them to a real one within the retirement community they live in. Apart from Mirren and Brosnan, the impressive cast includes Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.
According to Richard Osman’s 2020 globally popular novel titled The Thursday Murder Club, the movie adaptation of this book is directed by Chris Columbus, who has previously worked on films such as Home Alone and Harry Potter. The screenplay for the film was penned by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote. Jo Burn, Osman, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brod serve as executive producers, while Columbus and Jennifer Todd take on the roles of producers. The production for this movie is a joint effort between Amblin and Netflix.
