The 2002 shooter is brought to modern consoles with The Thing: Remastered
In a joint venture by Nightdive Studios and Universal Products & Experiences, they are diligently working to rejuvenate “The Thing: Remastered”. This updated version aims to accurately recreate the 2002 third-person survival horror shooter game. Inspired by the iconic 1982 John Carpenter film, “The Thing”, the storyline of this game serves as a continuation, unfolding after the events that transpired at Outpost #31.
For contemporary gaming systems and computers, the remastered version of “The Thing” receives numerous enhancements: Nightdive Studios has upgraded the game’s unique KEX Engine for modern platforms, enabling resolutions as high as 4K and frame rates reaching 120 FPS. To achieve these standards, suitable hardware is required, such as compatible screens along with a PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, the team has refined character models, textures, animations, lighting, and atmospheric effects. Take a look at the trailer below to witness it firsthand.
