As we move towards 2025, the count of classic remakes keeps increasing. One unexpected announcement about a remake was made by Devolver Digital and Croteam late last year – they unveiled that The Talos Principle would be getting an update. This week, The Talos Principle: Reawakened has announced its official release date along with a new demo, showcasing one of the remake’s most exciting new elements.
Initially revealing The Talos Principle: Reawakened in December, developers at Croteam aimed for something beyond just a remastered version. While the updated graphics are indeed present, as the game transitions from their proprietary engine to Unreal Engine 5, it appears that Reawakened offers much more than an aesthetic upgrade. Not only will there be a new story chapter added, but also significant enhancements in user experience and a brand-new puzzle editor designed to foster the modding community for this upcoming release.
To kick things off for that, the puzzle editor will be part of the upcoming Steam demo, accessible from today until the final game’s release. Croteam mentioned in their Steam announcement on Monday that any creations made in the demo can be moved over to the full game upon its launch.
On Thursday, April 10th, The Talos Principle: Reawakened will be available for purchase on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
