In a thrilling conclusion to Netflix’s The Survivors, the final episode posed several intriguing dilemmas, like whether Kieran (played by Charlie Vickers) perished in the dramatic confrontation. However, it turned out that Kieran survived and emerged victorious following his revelation about his friend Sean’s (Thom Green) actions. Consequently, Sean received appropriate retribution for his misdeeds.
Does Kieran live or die in The Survivors?
After the devastating storm at Evelyn Bay, which shaped the events of The Survivors, Kieran chose to move away. This storm claimed the life of his brother, leading their mother to cast blame upon Kieran. Though it was not Kieran who guided his brother towards the caves on that fateful night, he remains silent and eventually departs for several years, accepting the accusations uncontested.
That very evening, various other occurrences happened concurrently. Among them was the disappearance of Gabby (Eloise Rothfield), a fact disclosed by the series. Fifteen years prior, Gabby had been searching for Keiran when she met Sean.
In a cave that he was familiar with, Sean guided her and made an attempt to kiss her. However, when Gabby rejected him, Sean abandoned her, leading to a tragic outcome where she perished. For a long time, Gabby’s lifeless body lay hidden in the cave.
Currently, while exploring caves together, Kieran discovers that Sean was responsible for Shannon Berry’s death (Bronte), as she was close to uncovering the truth about Gabby’s disappearance. This revelation sparks a physical altercation between Kieran and Sean, leaving doubt about whether Kieran is still alive.
In a cruel manner, Sean assaulted Kieran, leaving him in a perilous state as a blow to the head with a stone appeared to have dealt a fatal injury. But luckily, the police showed up at the right moment to detain Sean for committing two homicides.
Kieran uncovers the reality behind Gabby and Bronte’s demise as well as reconciles with his mom, Verity. He also finds himself in a favorable position with Mia (portrayed by Yerin Ha). However, this is not a joyful conclusion; rather, it signifies a route for the characters on The Survivors to move forward.
All the episodes of the Australian drama are now streaming on Netflix.
