The Six Triple Eight Teaser Trailer Previews Kerry Washington-Led WWII Drama

As a history enthusiast and a lover of empowering stories, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Netflix release of “The Six Triple Eight.” Having delved deep into the annals of World War II history, it’s heartening to see such an untold chapter being brought to life on screen. The resilience, courage, and determination of these women, particularly Major Charity Adams and her battalion, are truly inspiring.

Netflix recently released a sneak peek, or teaser trailer, for an upcoming World War II drama titled “The Six Triple Eight”, directed by Tyler Perry and featuring Kerry Washington in the cast.

What happens in The Six Triple Eight teaser trailer?

As a gamer, I’m pumped about the latest sneak peek of this upcoming flick! It’s all about the groundbreaking Women’s Army Corps unit of color who fought valiantly overseas during WWII – a first in history. This trailer doesn’t just display the tough battles they’ll endure on the warfront, but also their inspiring journey to bring hope amidst the chaos of war.

In the upcoming movie “Six Triple Eight”, Kerry Washington portrays Major Charity Adams, a leader who commanded the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion – the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas during World War II. This exceptional group of women was later honored with the Congressional Gold Medal by U.S. President Joe Biden in 2022 for their bravery, and the film will be streamed later this year.

Washington will be joined by a distinguished group of actors such as Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, Sam Waterston, Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Jay Reeves, Jeffery Johnson, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Donna Biscoe, Gregg Sulkin, Scott Daniel Johnson, and Dean Norris in the production.

The movie recounts the remarkable true tale of the courageous and exceptional women who formed the only all-black, all-female battalion during World War II. In the film’s summary, we learn that these 855 brave individuals joined the war effort with limited understanding of their role, only to be tasked with an unprecedented mission: clearing a three-year backlog of undelivered mail. Skeptics doubted they could complete this titanic task, but the women not only accomplished it in half the time allotted, they did so amidst discrimination, foreign lands, and a war-ravaged country. They successfully sorted through over 17 million pieces of mail, bridging connections between American soldiers and their families back home. The battalion’s motto – ‘No Mail, Low Morale’ – served as their constant inspiration during the challenging times. These women were not just delivering mail; they were delivering hope.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating movie “The Six Triple Eight” is Tyler Perry’s masterpiece, inspired by an engrossing article penned by Kevin M. Hymel and featured in the 2019 issue of WWII History Magazine.
