Reports have it that Elite season 9 will not materialize following Netflix’s announcement to call it quits on the series post-season eight, which was disclosed in October 2023, prior to the release of season seven (as per Deadline). This decision signifies the conclusion of an era cherished by fans. The creative mind behind Elite, Carlos Montero, along with producer Jaime Vaca and Netflix, deemed it fitting to conclude the show triumphantly after years of success. Montero expressed his sentiments with a tinge of nostalgia:

I say this with great regret because it’s been several incredible years in which I’ve met wonderful actors, we’ve worked with all the directors we wanted to work with and we’ve had the luxury of having Maribel [Verdú] these last two seasons.

Montero looked back on the show with a sense of sadness for what had transpired, but couldn’t help but acknowledge the significant role it played in kickstarting the acting careers of numerous talents.

Élite changed everyone’s life. There are actors who started with us and it has been their springboard to now be world stars. It is happening to this cast and it is a pride to have contributed to that – and to know that they have seen us all over the world and liked it.

Currently, no plans have been announced for creating a new series based on the show. Nevertheless, the show’s impact endures, and enthusiasts can continue to watch the original eight seasons streaming on Netflix.
