In March 2025, Nexon has many exciting plans for The First Descendant. This includes the debut of Season 2 Episode 2, which introduces the characters Serena and the game’s next alluring Fellow. Alongside this new chapter in TFD, there are numerous other additions planned. However, it’s disappointing to note that The First Descendant players will not receive a new update before the release of Season 2 Episode 2.
Why The First Descendant is not getting an update
In ordinary language, here’s how you might rephrase it: Normally, The First Descendant gets an update every Thursday. But Nexon has announced that there won’t be a hotfix for TFD on March 6th. This means we can expect no new update before the start of Season 2 Episode 2 on March 13th.
The reason we haven’t received an update yet is that Jooms, the director of TFD, has clarified on Discord that Nexon is currently pouring all their efforts into the development of Season 2 Episode 2. On February 27th, a minor update was rolled out to introduce secret agent skins and fix some bugs, but this was limited in scope due to the team’s focus on S2E2.
Although there won’t be an update this week, which might be unfortunate, there’s some exciting news: instead, you can look forward to a developer livestream happening on March 6th! During this event, we will unveil Serena’s abilities and also show off new skins for S2E2, along with plenty of additional content that Nexon has been secretly developing.
Any problems with TFD at present or previously recognized might not be resolved until the upcoming update on March 13th. In case of urgent matters, there’s a chance that Nexon may implement an emergency patch, but as of now, no such plans have been made.
