That’s a production wrap on The Running Man.
Filmmaker Edgar Wright is working on a fresh take for “The Running Man,” a film inspired by the 1982 novel of the same name, penned by Stephen King. Previously, this book was transformed into a 1987 movie, directed by Paul Michael Glaser and featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role.
What did Glen Powell say about The Running Man?
In an Instagram post, actor Glen Powell (depicting character Ben Richards) gave fans a peek at the film’s set by sharing a backstage snapshot featuring himself alongside co-star Wright.
Wrapping up the photo shoot for The Running Man, Powell commented. ‘I’m sending my love and admiration to our remarkable cast and crew who have put in countless hours on this project. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on….More exciting things coming soon!’

Wright also shared the picture on his own Instagram account with the same caption.
As a die-hard fan of “The Running Man,” I’m pumped to learn that we won’t have to wait much longer! The movie is slated for theater release in November, so the first sneak peek at this remake should be dropping soon. Joining Powell, the stellar cast includes Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Jayme Lawson, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo. Can’t wait to see them bring this iconic story to life on the big screen!
In King’s novel, the character Ben Richards finds himself in a dire situation: unemployed, penniless, trapped with no escape, and responsible for his young daughter’s urgent medical care. With limited options, he turns to the only opportunity for wealth in this future dystopian America – participating in the brutal TV shows of the government-approved Games Network. Selected as a contestant on the most popular and high-stakes show, The Running Man, Ben is thrust into a 30-day battle for survival, hunted relentlessly by an elite team determined to end his life swiftly in front of an eager audience. If he manages to survive for a month, he stands to win a billion dollars. No one has ever lasted more than eight days, but the desperation driving Ben may push him to do what he never thought possible – go the distance in this ultimate game of survival.
On November 7, 2025, the movie “The Running Man” is scheduled for release in U.S. cinemas, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
