As a longtime lover of captivating love stories and a connoisseur of Indian cinema, I can confidently say that my excitement for “The Royals” is reaching unprecedented heights! With its intriguing plot and star-studded cast, this Netflix original series is set to be the next big thing in romantic dramas.
Step aside, Bridgerton! A fresh royal family is taking center stage now! Coming soon on Netflix is an Indian romantic drama titled The Royals. This series will unfold a contemporary romance between two characters hailing from contrasting backgrounds – a prince and a tech-entrepreneur prodigy.
Without a doubt, the show’s captivating plot will draw you in, but the real surprise comes with its talented cast! On August 14th, Netflix officially unveiled the cast through a video announcement, and upon seeing it, some familiar faces quickly stood out. Notable Indian actors Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar assume the primary roles, one as a pampered prince and the other as a tech-savvy startup founder. You may recognize Khatter from his appearances in the romantic drama film “Dhadak”, the action-packed “Khaali Peeli”, the humorous supernatural comedy “Phone Bhoot”, the war biopic “Pippa”, and the miniseries “A Suitable Boy”. He also made a brief appearance in Netflix’s “Don’t Look Up”.
Instead of Pednekar, it’s worth mentioning that she has gained significant recognition through her performances in the films “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”, “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, and “Pati Patni Aur Woh”. You might also be familiar with her portrayal of Chandro Tomar in the biographical drama film “Saand Ki Aankh” and as Suman “Sumi” Singh in the comedy-drama movie “Badhaai Do”. Notably, Pednekar is set to make her debut in a television series for the first time with “The Royals”.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming Netflix series, “The Royals,” will be graced by the legendary Indian actress, Zeenat Aman. She has left indelible marks on the cinematic world with her roles in iconic films like “Haré Rama Haré Krishna,” “Don,” and “Insaf Ka Tarazu.” In addition to Zeenat, the talented cast of “The Royals” includes Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny. I can hardly wait to witness this extraordinary ensemble bring their characters to life!
Pritish Nandy, along with his daughters Rangita and Ishita, are the masterminds behind the creation of a romantic drama series. The production company responsible for this series is Pritish Nandy Communications. Furthermore, Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana were in charge of directing various episodes, while Neha Veena Sharma penned the scripts.
