As a dedicated fan of “The Rookie”, I must confess that I’m feeling a mix of emotions upon hearing about Tru Valentino‘s departure from the show before Season 7. On the other hand, I can’t help but feel excited for what lies ahead!
As a devoted fan of “The Rookie,” I’m sharing some sad news: Tru Valentino, who plays my fellow cop Sergeant Aaron Thorsen, is parting ways with the show. This talented actor from the United States, aged 35, joined the cast in season four and quickly became a favorite due to his character’s appeal. However, it appears that we’ll be saying goodbye to him before Season 7 even starts.

It’s unclear why he’s leaving, but Tru Valentino won’t be part of The Rookie when it comes back for season seven.
Despite TVLine’s recent confirmation, whispers about his departure began a month ago. Notably, Tru Valentino was missing from The Roke’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in July 2024. His absence at this event sparked speculation among fans that he might be leaving The Rookie soon.
In 2021, Aaron Thorson first appeared on the show, playing a recurring role. Known for being the son of a famous rapper and having a large following on TikTok due to his extravagant lifestyle, Thorson found himself embroiled in legal issues after an enigmatic friend’s death. Despite these accusations, he was found not guilty and later teamed up with the LAPD. As the series progressed into seasons five and six, Thorson’s character transitioned from recurring to a regular one.
As a devoted fan, I must admit I was a bit disappointed when Tru Valentino decided to part ways with The Rookie in Season 6. However, the ABC drama has proven time and again that it’s always ready for new adventures, and Season 7 is no exception! In fact, we can expect two exciting new additions to the team come July 2024.
In 2025, it’s anticipated that The Rookie will air its seventh season. At this point, though, ABC hasn’t revealed the specific release date just yet.
