However, the showrunner and creator of the series, Alexi Hawley, has reassured fans that they won’t have to wait long before seeing Bailey again.
Alexi Hawley says Bailey will return in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 3
In a recent chat, it was revealed that Jenna Dewan’s character, Bailey Nune, will make an earlier-than-anticipated comeback on the series. First appearing in Season 3 as a temporary character, Bailey has since evolved into a key figure in the show, becoming Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan’s main love interest and eventually his wife.
In response to Screen Rant’s query about Bailey’s comeback, Alexi Hawley stated, “Indeed, she will. Since Jenna had a baby in real life, we catch up with her towards the end of Episode 3.” It’s worth mentioning that Dewan is romantically involved with Steve Kazee, who is also an actor. Their daughter, Rhiannon Lee Kathryn Kazee, was born on June 14, 2024.

Jenna Dewan and Kazee share a son named Callum Michael Rebel Kazee, who was born in March 2020. Interestingly, while Jenna was pregnant in reality, her character Bailey on The Rookie did not experience pregnancy during Season 6. Instead, the storyline focused on different challenges for her character. In the season finale, it’s hinted that Bailey’s ex-husband Jason Wyler might have left prison, which could explain her absence in the first two episodes of the seventh season.
