This year, the movie “The Phoenician Scheme” – a new production from Focus Features – will be hitting theaters. Known for his work, Wes Anderson is responsible for directing and co-writing this film. Who stars in The Phoenician Scheme trailer?
In The Phoenician Scheme, we see Benicio del Toro portraying one of Europe‘s wealthiest men. Zsa-zsa Korda plays a role, with Mia Threapleton being cast as her on-screen daughter. Lastly, Michael Cera is featured as the tutor to del Toro’s fictional daughter.
Alongside Tom Hanks, Riz Ahmed, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, and Hope Davis, this movie features an impressive ensemble cast.
“The story of a family and a family business,” the synopsis for the movie reads.
Anderson collaborated with Roman Coppola in writing the script for The Phoenician Scheme. Additionally, Anderson is one of the producers of the film under his production company, American Empirical Pictures, along with Steven Rales, Jeremy Dawson, and John Peet.
On this occasion, Anderson is teaming up with Focus Features for a third time, having previously worked together on Asteroid City and Moonrise Kingdom, the latter of which premiered in 2012.
At this year’s 96th Academy Awards, I was the lucky one who took home my very first Oscar! It was for the Best Live Action Short category, and the film was none other than “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” a project inspired by Roald Dahl’s short story, with Cumberbatch bringing the title character to life. In addition to this masterpiece, I also produced three more shorts based on Dahl’s work – “The Swan,” “The Rat Catcher,” and “Poison” – all released in 2023 and now streaming on Netflix for everyone to enjoy!
Apart from the mentioned movies, Anderson’s collection also features Bottle Rocket (released in 1996), Rushmore (1998), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Isle of Dogs (2019), and The French Dispatch (2021).
Starting from May 30, 2025, the movie “The Phoenician Scheme” will have a restricted premiere in selected theaters. Following this, the film will be shown across the country starting June 6, 2025.
