As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the announcement of The Outer Worlds 2 has sent a wave of excitement coursing through me. Having grown up playing classics like Fallout and New Vegas, developed by the very same Obsidian Entertainment, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia tinged with anticipation.
Obsidian Entertainment has unveiled The Outer Worlds 2, their latest sci-fi role-playing game developed by the team known for Fallout: New Vegas, Alpha Protocol among others. Set to release on Xbox Series, PC and PlayStation 5, this new RPG promises a significantly larger experience than its predecessor, which gained cult status.
The Outer World 2 release date announced
At The Game Awards, alongside announcements for The Witcher 4 and other titles, Obsidian’s upcoming RPG was unveiled. This new project has reportedly taken thrice as long to develop but promises to be twice as expansive as its predecessor. Although not many details were shared, we can expect fresh weaponry, increased action sequences, and elements that should have been incorporated in the original game.
As Avowed is being developed concurrently, this upcoming RPG will reintroduce players to a sci-fi world devastated by corporations, featuring an exciting roster of fresh characters to connect with. The game has been officially scheduled for release in 2025 and will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass on both PC and Xbox consoles.
The trailer announces that The Outer Worlds 2 is a follow-up to the critically acclaimed first-person sci-fi role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment. Brace yourself for a thrilling journey in a fresh colony, led by a brand new team, and featuring state-of-the-art graphics!
It’s worth noting that although Obsidian Entertainment is an Xbox-owned studio, their upcoming game will be available across all platforms at the same time. In contrast, titles like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle are initially appearing on PlayStation systems, but have had brief periods of exclusivity on Xbox consoles before their wider release.
