The One Chicago shows are now on a break, but when will they be back

As a dedicated fan who has been following the gripping tales of the Windy City’s finest since their inception, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment as the winter break looms upon us. The chilling air outside seems to echo the cold emptiness that the absence of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD leaves in its wake. But fear not, my fellow fans! The return dates are set, and it’s not too long until we dive back into the heart-wrenching drama of our beloved One Chicago shows.

As a fellow gaming enthusiast and fan of the One Chicago universe, I’ve got some disappointing news for us both: it seems our favorite shows are taking a brief hiatus during these wintry months. Firehouse 51, Intelligence, and the rest of the crew are all going on winter breaks. Let’s hope they come back stronger than ever in the new year!

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been hooked on the thrilling trio of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD. Last week, they all wrapped up their 2024 fall seasons on Nov 20. That means we’re on a brief hiatus until 2025. But fear not, fellow fans! The wait isn’t as long as it seems. NBC has already announced their return dates.

On Wednesday, January 8th, all three shows will make their comeback. As is customary, Med will start off the evening followed by Fire and then PD.

What to expect in Chicago Med season 10, episode 9

In the autumn season finale, Sharon encountered a tragic outcome. While in her office, she was viciously attacked with a knife and found herself unable to summon aid. Despite her best efforts, the individual who had been persistently harassing her – a relative of one of Sharon’s deceased patients – ultimately discovered her actions and thwarted them.

Towards the close of the episode, Archer walked towards Sharon’s office to submit his resignation letter. To create a diversion, he slid it under her door. This allowed Sharon to make a quick exit into the hallway. The scene ended there, leaving us in suspense until the next premiere about whether Archer can rescue Sharon or not. As for what happens next and how Chicago Med staff perform surgery on one of their own, we’ll have to wait and see.

Could it be that we’ll encounter Sarah again in the future? I have a feeling that may be the case, and I believe there will be several moral dilemmas she’ll have to address. It seems appropriate that Charles chose to temporarily detain Ariel for 72 hours.

What to expect in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 9

In the finale of Chicago Fire, Cruz found himself in a predicament. All through the episode, he discovered what appeared to be bullets in his locker and near his car. However, these weren’t actual bullets; they were containers for ashes. To make matters worse, there were human ashes inside those containers. Cruz is aware of their origin, and it seems that the past is about to reconnect with both Cruz and Leon.

Throughout the episode, Ritter found himself pondering over the best way to inform his partner that he isn’t ready to move in together just yet. Here’s hoping their story doesn’t reach an end; instead, I’d love to witness their discussion unfold on-screen.

incidentally, Severide is set to return for the winter premiere of Chicago Fire in season 13. His absence during the fall finale was due to his work commitments.

What to expect in Chicago PD season 12, episode 9

In the meantime, Intelligence must keep vigilant as they search for two abducted girls. A ransom has been set for their safe return, and if their parents fail to meet this demand, the girls’ lives are at risk. Voight is determined that such an outcome should be prevented, thus a full-scale operation is being mobilized to locate them as quickly as possible.

It seems that Reid won’t expose Voight or his team for Torres’ misdeeds simply because they share a friendship with each other. Instead, there’s likely something that Reid desires kept hidden by Voight and the team. However, we can’t be sure what that secret is at this point.

In Episode 9, we’ll witness Intelligence attempting to heal the rift caused by the situation. The revelation that Torres was involved with his Confidential Informant left many feeling stunned. Ruzek is enraged because Torres’s actions could potentially have sent Burgess to prison, while Cook and Atwater appeared disillusioned by Torres’s conduct. Can they reconcile their differences, or will Torres be compelled to seek a new role within the Chicago Police Department?

On January 8th, beginning at 8/7 central time, “Chicago” resumes with fresh installments on NBC. Don’t miss out; you can also stream all the episodes on Peacock.
