When is The Old Guard 2 release date?

The second installment of ‘The Old Guard’ is set to premiere on Netflix on July 2, 2025. Alongside Charlize Theron, the original cast members KiKi Layne as Nile, Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker, Marwan Kenzari as Joe, Luca Marinelli as Nicky, Veronica Ngo as Quynh, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley will return. Notable new additions to the cast include Uma Thurman and Henry Golding.

In a nutshell, “Andy and her band of eternal warriors are back to shield mankind from a powerful new foe who poses an existential threat.” For those who remember, The Old Guard concluded with some unanswered questions. Specifically, Booker (Schoenaerts) turned against the team, leading to his expulsion for a hundred years. During this time, he encounters the mysterious Quynh (Ngô), who appears in his apartment. It’s not clear what her intentions are, but one thing is certain – the action will be more intense and spectacular than before, and the movie will transport you to uncharted territories.

The second part of this story is helmed by Victoria Mahoney as the scriptwriters Greg Rucka and Sarah L. Walker pen the screenplay. They draw inspiration from a comic book with the same title created by Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez. Gina Prince-Bythewood, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Marc Evans, Denver and Delilah’s Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix are also involved in its production.
