Some devotees of Christopher Nolan have expressed displeasure over the American-sounding accents featured in the sneak peek trailer for “The Odyssey”.
The ongoing production of The Odyssey, a fresh take on epic fantasy cinema, is helmed by Nolan as its writer, director, and co-producer. Featuring Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Jon Bernthal, and an array of other talented actors, the movie is slated for release in July 2026.
The initial sneak peek for “The Odyssey” is currently being screened before “Jurassic World Rebirth,” although low-quality clips from the footage have been leaked online recently. The teaser consists of a few scenes of the sea and shore, as well as a short dialogue between Holland and Bernthal concerning Damon’s character’s location.
What are people saying about the accents in The Odyssey teaser trailer?
Some individuals express discontentment upon hearing American accents in the preview for a modern adaptation of the epic poem “The Odyssey,” which traditionally belongs to the ancient Greek author Homer.

Others, however, don’t feel like it’s that big of a deal.
In more straightforward terms, I’d like to express my displeasure regarding the use of American accents in the Odyssey trailer. As it happens, I have already watched numerous movies prior to this, and unfortunately, I currently have multiple carbon monoxide sources that are leaking within my apartment.

I find it intriguing that some people are criticizing the American accents in the Odyssey teaser, given that the original story is set in ancient Greece. I personally don’t see it as a problem.
