Under the creative direction of Teddy Santis at its Made in USA division, New Balance has revamped the 990v6 with a refreshing minty look. Nicknamed “Avocado/Natural Mint,” this new color scheme showcases various shades of green, subtly highlighted by the familiar neutral details that are characteristic of Santis’ designs on the line.
The “Avocado” colorway is a deep, almost forest green that covers the mesh areas on the toebox, midfoot, and collar. Conversely, “Natural Mint” is a lighter shade of green that is predominantly seen on the suede midfoot and heel overlays. Additionally, there’s a medium-toned green present, which adds accents on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel. The upper also features slate grey and greenish-grey accents, with white tongues contrasting nicely. The FuelCell midsoles are two-tone, combining greenish-grey with a white layer, while the outsoles are slate grey. Although not an exact match, the blend of greens on the “Avocado/Natural Mint” reminds one of past New Balance collaborations such as the Patta x New Balance 990v3 and the mita sneakers x Sneakerwolf x New Balance 990v4.
The release date for the “Avocado/Natural Mint” version of the New Balance 990v6 MADE in USA hasn’t been revealed yet, but we expect it to arrive later this year as part of their series of seasonal launches within the MADE in USA line. Once available, it will retail for $200 USD.
