The Mummy Cast Adds Moon Knight Star & More to Lee Cronin Horror Movie

The ensemble for the film “The Mummy” is expanding, as per recent reports from Deadline, with three new members joining Lee Cronin’s upcoming production.

Who has joined The Mummy cast?

As a gamer enthusiastically following the latest news, I’m thrilled to share that according to recent reports from Deadline, May Calamawy (from Moon Knight), Veronica Falcón (Queen of the South), and the talented Egyptian actress May Elghety have signed on for an upcoming movie project. These new additions join Jack Reynor and Laia Costa, who hopped aboard last month. I can hardly wait to see this stellar cast come together!

Calamawy primarily gained recognition for her performance as Scarlet Scarab in the Disney+ series Moon Knight, and additionally appeared in Hulu’s comedy show Ramy. She’s set to appear in Duke Johnson’s The Actor next. Similarly, Falcón has garnered fame from her roles in Queen of the South, along with Ozark, Perry Mason, and other notable productions. Elghety, who has previously starred in several Egyptian TV shows, will soon be seen in the upcoming film Due Dating.

The movie titled “The Mummy” is planned to be released on the 27th of April, 2026, but specifics about its storyline haven’t been disclosed yet.

Previously, Cronin stated to The Hollywood Reporter that this upcoming Mummy movie would be unlike any other Mummy film fans have encountered before, aiming to unearth something “extremely old and extremely terrifying.” An additional report from THR suggests the story will revolve around a “man who is both a husband and father, but finds himself in trouble with forces that are not only supernatural, but also sinister.

Cronin stated that this will not resemble any Mummy film you’ve previously seen through your eyes. He’s delving deep into the earth to awaken something extremely old and incredibly terrifying.

It’s worth mentioning that the upcoming movie isn’t a remake or continuation of the Mummy series that belongs to Universal Pictures. In fact, it appears to be an entirely new tale about a mummy, unrelated to their horror franchise.
