As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with a soft spot for creative twists on classic characters, I must admit that “The Mouse Trap” has piqued my interest. The idea of a Mickey Mouse-clad slasher is not only unique but also intriguingly sinister.
In the near future, ComingSoon will have the privilege of premiering an exclusive sneak peek from the highly anticipated slasher horror film titled “The Mouse Trap”, which was penned by Simon Phillips.
Phillips plays the role of a masked murderer in the film, dressed as Mickey Mouse. Agreements with Gravitas Ventures have been made for its U.S. and Canadian release, which will be available digitally on August 6, 2024. A DVD and Blu-ray version will follow on August 13, 2024.

What is The Mouse Trap about?
“On my 21st birthday, instead of celebrating, I found myself working a late-night shift at the amusement arcade. Little did I know that my friends had planned a surprise for me. However, the fun took an unexpected turn when a chilling figure in a Mickey Mouse costume emerged, turning our evening into his own deadly game. Now it’s up to me to survive this terrifying ordeal.”
On New Year’s Day, 2024, Steamboat Willie – a production that showcases an earlier iteration of Mickey Mouse – will become part of the public domain. This means that anyone can utilize this specific version of the character in movies and TV shows, as Disney’s copyright protection has expired.
Jamie Bailey directs “Into Frame Productions’ The Mouse Trap.” The film’s producers are Paul Whitney, Mark Popejoy, Alexander Gausman, and Andrew Agopsowicz. Mem Ferda of Filmcore serves as the co-producer.
Phillips gained recognition for portraying Santa Claus in the 2017 movie “Once Upon a Time at Christmas” and the 2019 horror films “The Nights Before Christmas”. Additionally, he played Uwe in an episode of the series “FUBAR”, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bandit in an episode of “The Witcher” on Netflix.
In addition to William Dafoe, The Mouse Trap features actors such as Sophie McIntosh, Callum Sywyk, Allegra Nocita, Ben Harris, Mireille Gagné, Mackenzie Mills, James Laurin, Kayleigh Styles, Jesse Masmith, Madeline Kelman, Damir Kovic, and Nick Biskupek.
