Always present in the game map selection for Valorant, Bind has been a staple that every player is accustomed to, evoking either affection or disdain from different groups.
Ever since its launch in June 2020, Bind has consistently been among the initial four maps that players could engage with immediately.
Despite undergoing some changes over time, the fundamental layout of the map has essentially stayed consistent.
Like many maps, Bind favours defenders, which makes attacking a challenge.
For a more effective attack in Bind, start focusing on your adversaries earlier in the game to gain an advantage, or learn and adapt to their defensive strategies by familiarizing yourself with the most commonly used bases shown on this map.
The overview is divided into defensive positions for defenders on A and B.
Bind – Bombsite B – Defender Spots
B-Gap:
In your defensive role, it’s beneficial to frequently check the area near bomb site B. This spot serves as a good hiding place until you pick up sounds from the opposing team. Then, carefully time your emergence from the corner to take advantage of a strategic peek.
Initially, ensure you’re on the correct path, marked as “B-Long”. Then, adjust your crosshairs slightly to the left to inspect the location named “Hookah”. This spot offers protection and an excellent vantage point for observing both potential attack routes.
Just remember that experienced attackers know the corner and will often be waiting for you there.
B-Hall:
The Hall Defender position provides a distinct advantage for monitoring the short sector, or B-Short. While B-Long may not be directly visible, you’ll have a clear sight of opponents approaching from B-Short and also Hookah.
From this advantageous angle, it’s as if the angle is working in your favor, making it challenging for your opponents to locate you. Meanwhile, you have an optimal vantage point to aim at their heads. Remain composed and you will be able to land precise headshots from here.
If you’re given a powerful shove, you have the option to step back either toward your elbow or to the area where defenders initially appear, known as the defender spawn.
B-Elbow:
The last point of defence for the Bind B-side is the elbow.
In the image provided, you can clearly see a perspective of both Hookah and B-Long, should your adversaries have progressed beyond the corner into Garden.
Ideally, the versatile side with retreat options and a good overview (either “Long” or “Garden”) should have another player positioned there with the ability to collect information early on and take advantage of the expansive layout. In other words, it would be beneficial to have someone stationed in that area who can make use of the opportunities available and adapt to any retreat options if necessary.
Bind – Bombsite A – Defender Spots
From my perspective, nestled right behind those iconic green containers smack dab in the heart of the map, you’ll find one of the most frequented defensive hotspots – a favorite among many players like myself.
Similar to the area on the left side, you could choose to let your opponent discover you first, or else you might want to focus your attack on the more exposed or vulnerable position, often referred to as the ‘A-near’ or ‘A-short’.
This is one of the preferred ways to attack A.
If your opponent selects “A-Long” and opts for the region above the “showers” (on the right), this arrangement gives you the chance to manage that approach too.
A-Lamps:
Instead of the path detailed earlier that originates from the shower area, the A-Short provides assailants with a larger open space and increased shielding through walls and crates.
Defenders need to be alert as the attackers can come from either corner.
It is advisable to take cover behind the wall as much as possible and only aim at the left side.
Moving to your left would significantly reduce your concealment, making it likely that you’ll be seen before you even spot the assailant.
Also keep an eye out for the wooden crates – attackers can hide behind them or move slowly.
A-Tower/Heaven:
The place often referred to as “Heaven” or alternatively as the “A-Tower,” is an ideal vantage point for snipers. It allows you a panoramic view of the entire A-Site, making it easy to manage both short and long-range engagements.
Keep in mind: This location is frequently used by adversaries as a strategic point, often preparing it prior to their arrival to ensure smooth entrance without detection.
So don’t rely on it blindly – or wait for the smoke to clear.
Regardless if you’re launching an offensive or holding your ground, we trust this concise guide will assist you in maintaining vigilance over vital corners and ensuring readiness for the upcoming battle on Bind.
