About a year has passed since The Marías released their critically-acclaimed, atmospheric album “Submarine”. However, it continues to be a staple in our regular playlist. Now, they’re partnering with sportswear brand Kappa for a unique collaboration, merging the “Submarine” theme into football apparel.

Throughout our lifetimes, we’ve all been passionate about football,” María Zardoya clarified, emphasizing the importance of the partnership. This collaboration extends to not only the home and away soccer uniforms but also scarves.

Zardoya shared, “One of the things I cherish most is spending weekends watching games with my dad. We’d enjoy tamales side by side, eagerly waiting for him to leap up and shout ‘goooooool!’ Creating our personalized football jersey was a special way for us to remember our passion for the game and the unforgettable times it brought us close as a family.

In the 2000s, Kappa served as the official sponsor for my beloved soccer team, Tottenham Hotspur. Each time I’d spot their emblem, it stirred up nostalgia from my childhood days of watching matches. Who would have thought that one day, I’d be creating jerseys for them myself? This is what Josh Conway shared.

Zardoya and Conway collaborated extensively with the Kappa design squad to create each one of the three items. The home uniforms feature an all-black dye job with blue and white highlights, whereas the alternate choice sports a completely white base with blue and dark-blue branding elements.
