The major Young Sheldon character who won't be at Thanksgiving in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage

As a long-time fan of Young Sheldon and a dedicated gamer who’s always eager for a good TV show, I must say I’m thrilled about the upcoming Thanksgiving episode of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. The prospect of seeing the McAllister clan gather once again is like a sweet, comforting slice of virtual pie!

Thanksgiving is an occasion for families from all locations to come together, creating an ideal moment for family reunions – even on television shows! For instance, the spin-off series “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage,” which originates from “Young Sheldon” on CBS.

According to TVLine, there’ll be a special Thanksgiving episode airing soon where most of the main characters from “Young Sheldon” gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving with the McAllisters. However, one crucial character – Sheldon – will not be present in this festive gathering.

According to recent reports, the fifth episode of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage is scheduled for release around Thanksgiving. The exact air date hasn’t been announced yet, but given that it falls on a Thursday, it could either be during or near the holiday itself. Don’t forget, the series premieres on CBS on October 17, 2024.

In the first episode, we can expect to see both Meemaw and Mary, which is wonderful news! Additionally, Missy will appear in episode 2. It’s thrilling to learn that these characters and actors are set to continue their roles beyond a single episode. However, it’s unfortunate that Ian Armitage as Sheldon Cooper won’t be part of the Thanksgiving episode this season.

Given Sheldon’s personality, it’s quite reasonable. His primary focus, particularly now, is on his studies. Even though he might be away from Caltech in Pasadena, California, during this break, he probably prefers to delve into his books rather than socialize with family. Plus, the distance between California and Texas makes a quick trip impractical for him.

Although it will undeniably be noticeable that Sheldon is missing from the series, I can only hope they bring him back at some point. Armitage has shown interest in reprising his role when possible. Frankly, we would all love to see him again! At present, however, my attention is centered on the main characters we have, with the exception of George, who sadly passed away and I still mourn for him deeply. Sigh.

Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage premieres Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
