The Lore Olympus TV adaptation gets an encouraging update!

As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of webcomics, I’ve been following the epic saga of “Lore Olympus” by Rachel Smythe since its inception on Webtoon back in 2018. This captivating tale of Persephone and Hades had me hooked from the very beginning, and I was thrilled when news broke out about a potential TV adaptation in collaboration with the Jim Henson Company.

As a long-time follower of webcomics, I have witnessed many promising series come and go, but none have left me as captivated as Lore Olympus. Having discovered it on Webtoon shortly after its launch in 2018, I was immediately drawn to the story of Persephone and Hades.

In just over a year since its debut in 2018, the webcomic amassed a significant fan base. Consequently, Webtoon and the Jim Henson Company announced their collaboration on an animated series for young adults based on the comic in 2019. Unfortunately, since then, there have been no substantial updates regarding the project’s progress. With nearly five years passing, it’s natural for fans to express concerns over the potential adaptation.

As a longtime fan of the captivating webcomic “Lore Olympus,” I’ve been eagerly anticipating its TV adaptation. And let me tell you, my excitement reached new heights when I recently heard some intriguing news straight from the horse’s mouth – or rather, from Halle Stanford, President of TV at The Jim Henson Company.

She’s incredible. She’s been there every creative milestone step of the way. She’s helping us build easter eggs, helping us layer those characters, telling us what kind of flowers come up in Persephone’s hair when she’s feeling somethin

Based on what I’ve heard, the production of the series is progressing smoothly, which is great given the secrecy surrounding the project. The hints about Easter eggs are intriguing and indicate that there will be variations between the webcomic and the show. Smythe’s significant role is reassuring as it ensures that the fundamental storyline will stay intact despite potential modifications to specific elements or their order in the series.

The home or platform where the “Lore Olympus” TV series will be streamed or broadcasted has not been revealed yet. It’s uncertain if the show is still intended for a young adult audience, given that Persephone is only 19 but most of the gods in the cast are older and there’s a notable time leap in the narrative midway through.
