Actor Jonah Hauer-King, best known for his role in The Little Mermaid, has been chosen to play the main part in the forthcoming film The Eden Express, a drama set in the 1970s that follows the journey of self-discovery, which is adapted from Mark Vonnegut’s memoir with the same title.

Actor Hauer-King is slated to portray Mark Vonnegut, the son of renowned science fiction author Kurt Vonnegut, best recognized for his celebrated works like Slaughterhouse-Five and The Sirens of Titan. After starring in Peacock’s Holocaust miniseries The Tattooist of Auschwitz as Lale Sokolov, he will soon appear in various films, including Rich Flu alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead, William Tell featuring Claes Bang, and The Threesome with Zoey Deutch.

What is The Eden Express movie about?

As stated by Variety, the movie chronicles Mark’s attempt in 1970, accompanied by his girlfriend Virge and a band of companions, to flee from Nixon’s America in search of a more fulfilling lifestyle at a commune in British Columbia. They envision this location as a heavenly oasis on Earth. However, as their ideal utopia begins to take shape, Mark starts experiencing auditory hallucinations and eerie visions that foreshadow the onset of his bipolar disorder journey.

Daniel Cockburn will pen and helm the upcoming movie titled “The Eden Express.” The production of this film is a collaboration between Daniel Bekerman, Christina Wood, Chris Yurkovich, Scythia Films, and Good Question Media. Jordan Hart and Stephen Fry are serving as executive producers. At present, Hauer-King is the sole confirmed actor, but further casting is ongoing.
