The Life of Chuck Release Date Set for Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King Adaptation

As a die-hard fan of both Tom Hiddleston and Stephen King’s work, the news about the release date for The Life of Chuck has sent me into a frenzy! I can hardly contain my excitement, especially knowing that it was Mike Flanagan who’s behind the helm.

NEON has set a summer release date for the Tom Hiddleston-led sci-fi drama The Life of Chuck

Chuck’s Life movie adaptation stems from Stephen King’s namesake novella, found within his “If It Bleeds” compilation. Notably, Mike Flanagan, a distinguished horror filmmaker recognized for works like Gerald’s Game, Hush, The Haunting of Hill House, and Midnight Mass, is both the writer and director of this film.

When is the release date for The Life of Chuck?

The movie titled “The Life of Chuck,” which won the Audience Prize at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 30, 2025. As suggested by its title, this film will focus on the life of Charles “Chuck” Krantz (portrayed by Hiddleston). Instead of following a chronological timeline, the story will be presented in reverse order, revealing Chuck’s past and leading up to his present.

Beyond the captivating Loki himself, this star-studded cast features Chiwetel Ejiofor, who gave a powerful performance in 12 Years a Slave, Karen Gillan, the fearless Guardians of the Galaxy heroine, Mark Hamill, legendary from Star Wars, Matthew Lillard, known for his role in Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Heather Langenkamp, iconic from A Nightmare on Elm Street. Joining them are Jacob Tremblay, Benjamin Pajak, and Cody Flanagan, each embodying Chuck at different stages of his life.

Rounding out the cast are Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows), David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), Kate Siegel (Oculus), Violet McGraw (M3GAN), Mia Sara (Dorothy and the Witches of Oz), Trinity Jo-li Bliss (Avatar: The Way of Water), Q’Orianka Kilcher (The Power of Few), Antonio Raul Corbo (Pilgrim), Carl Lumbly (Doctor Sleep), Annalise Basso (Ouija: Origin of Evil), Samantha Sloyan (The Midnight Club), Rahul Kohli (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Matt Biedel (Phoenix Forgotten), Sauriyan Sapkota (The Fall of the House of Usher), Saidah Arrika Ekulona (Bob Hearts Abishola), Michael Trucco (Fairly Legal), and Molly C. Quinn (We’re the Millers).

The Life of Chuck hits theaters on May 30.
