The Legend of Zelda Movie Delayed, New Release Date Set

The release date for the live-action Legend of Zelda movie has been pushed back.

In November 2023, it became public knowledge that Sony Pictures and Nintendo were collaborating on a live-action film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, with Wes Ball set as director. Initially slated for release on March 26, 2027, the movie was first announced.

Currently, the launch date for The Legend of Zelda has been delayed by approximately one month.

The Legend of Zelda movie now has a May 7, 2027, release date.

Shigeru Miyamoto from Nintendo shared on social media that due to production needs, the release date of The Legend of Zelda live-action movie has been moved to May 7, 2027. This new date is slightly later than our initial announcement, but we’re using this extra time to ensure the film meets our high standards and turns out as great as possible.
