The Last of Us Season 3 has already been confirmed

Next week, I’ll dive back into Joel and Ellie’s post-apocalyptic journey with the second season of “The Last of Us” premiering on HBO Max. It looks like their story doesn’t end there either, as a third season has already been greenlit and is set to begin production soon!

This week, it was announced by Variety that The Last of Us Season 3 has been confirmed. Back in 2023, when fans were eagerly anticipating the first season, the franchise director Neil Druckmann and showrunner Craig Mazin had hinted that they intended to divide the events of The Last of Us Part 2 into several seasons. It appears that their plan is now being implemented. Seasons 2 and 3 of The Last of Us will both focus on the events depicted in the second game, which was released in 2020 to widespread critical praise.

In April 13, 2025, The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere on HBO Max. This next chapter will carry on Ellie and Joel’s storyline beyond the events depicted in the first game, which was fully adapted in the first season. Given that the second game takes an emotional turn, it’s safe to say there are some distressing moments ahead. However, we’ll have to wait and see how the show handles these sensitive parts. If the quality remains as high as the first season, then we’re eagerly anticipating another gripping TV series experience.

Looking forward to the announced third season of The Last of Us HBO series! We’ll keep you informed as soon as more details, including release dates, are revealed. Stay connected for our latest coverage.
