In a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, Pedro Pascal reminisced about an intensely moving day on set while filming The Last of Us alongside Bella Ramsey. As he watched a particular scene from the series, Pascal expressed his hesitation, saying, “I’d rather not watch it!” However, he quickly added, “But I could certainly discuss it.
Pascal portrayed the situation as one of the most challenging yet rewarding days in his acting experience. Here, Joel acknowledges that he can no longer deceive Ellie, a realization that could potentially cost him their relationship forever. The raw emotion of this encounter, according to him, added an extraordinary intensity to both their performances.
In his recollection, this moment was near the conclusion of all filming for The Last of Us. Pascal shared, “Bella and I… it was incredibly emotionally charged.” He commended director Neil Druckmann for crafting an environment that enabled them to deeply immerse themselves in the scene’s emotional depth.

Later on, Pascal elaborated, expressing that after wrapping up the filming, he was left emotionally depleted yet spiritually content. “Thinking about causing them pain, considering the possibility of their absence,” he said, “these thoughts simply shattered my heart.
Even though Pascal hadn’t watched the completed version of that particular scene, the recollection itself remained strikingly clear. Beyond discussing his final scene in The Last of Us, Pascal also shared some thoughts about his departure from Game of Thrones and other topics.
