The Last of Us’ Nico Parker Has a Good Reason Why She Won’t Watch Season 2

Nico Parker, who featured prominently in approximately half an hour during the initial season of “The Last of Us,” has shared her reason for refraining from viewing Season 2 – for now, at the very least.

In The Last of Us Season 1, Parker portrayed Sarah, the teenage daughter of Joel Miller, played by Pedro Pascal. Despite having a limited screen time, there appears to be a lasting bond between the actress (who is also starring as Astrid Hofferson in the theater version of How to Train Your Dragon) and her on-screen father.

Why hasn’t Nico Parker watched The Last of Us Season 2?

During an appearance as a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host inquired whether Parker still tuned in to the show. He playfully suggested that since Parker’s character, Sarah, often made Pascal’s character seem gloomy, some viewers might say “Pascal’s character was quite sad.” The actress then admitted that she found it emotionally challenging to watch Joel’s death scene on screen at this time.

Parker mentioned that they haven’t seen the second season yet, as the thought of his character dying is incredibly upsetting for them. However, being a big fan of Bella Ramsey, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Gabriel Luna, and the rest of the cast, they are eager to watch it to catch their performances. But they find Pedro’s death too difficult to handle.

Later on, Parker admitted she had seen Gladiator II. “I was completely okay with his death,” she said. Meyers jokingly retorted, “Eventually, you understand that they’re merely films.

In the controversial and debated second episode, Abby (Dever) ended up fatally harming Joel, leading to his tragic end. Many viewers have voiced their disapproval towards the show’s creators for writing off Joel’s character prematurely.

Five years following the incidents in Season 1, Joel and Ellie find themselves embroiled in a struggle against each other and a world that has become even more perilous and volatile than the one they once knew.

The Last of Us Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Max.
