Their task is to safeguard the world from an enigmatic, ominous danger hidden within. As they strive to maintain their alertness while defending against an unseen adversary, they form a connection from afar. When the impending, catastrophic threat to humanity is unveiled to them, they must join forces, pushing their physical and mental abilities to their limits, to preserve the secret within the canyon before it’s too late.

The Gorge will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday, February 14, 2025.

What are critics saying about The Gorge?

ComingSoon’s Jonathan Sim rated the movie 8 out of 10, acknowledging that it isn’t flawless and has some foreseeable concepts. However, he highly appreciated the acting skills of Teller and Taylor-Joy, mentioning that they excel at portraying compelling action scenes and a convincing romantic connection.

According to IGN’s A.A. Dowd, this film received a favorable review with a rating of 7/10. He described it as a more captivating science fiction action movie involving radioactive monsters vanishing into the digital void compared to Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World.

According to Lovia Gyarkye from The Hollywood Reporter, the film has a promising start, but as it progresses, its lack of excitement and rigid structure become increasingly noticeable. Meanwhile, David Ehrlich from IndieWire wasn’t overly enthusiastic about the movie either, giving it a C grade. He pointed out that while there are some bold actions scenes as the heroes attempt to extricate themselves from danger, these can’t compensate for the fact that The Gorge devolves into an overly predictable film based on its intriguing premise.

Meanwhile, Meagan Navarro from Bloody Disgusting rated The Gorge as 3 out of 5 stars, whereas Jeremy Mathai at SlashFilm awarded it with a score of 7 out of 10.
