The GOAT: Not Trisha Krishnan, but THIS actress was initially offered Matta song with Thalapathy Vijay

As a long-time fan of Tamil cinema and a dedicated follower of Thalapathy Vijay, I have to say that The GOAT was a rollercoaster ride of emotions and excitement. Trisha Krishnan’s special appearance in the Matta song added an extra layer of thrill to the movie, and her chemistry with Vijay was undeniably magical.

As a devoted admirer, I eagerly waited for Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated film, “The GOAT,” which hit the screens on September 5. Beyond the stellar performance by our beloved superstar, Trisha Krishnan’s captivating appearance in the movie sent fans into a frenzy. The actress danced to the lively track, Matta, sharing the stage with Thalapathy Vijay. Their enchanting chemistry has been the center of conversation, but did you know that Trisha wasn’t originally planned for the song? It might come as a surprise, but it was initially actress Sreeleela who was meant to be part of “The GOAT” cast.

Initially, Sreeleela showed great enthusiasm about the opportunity, but eventually turned it down following advice from her peers in the industry. The reason for Sreeleela’s rejection was that she was advised against participating in an item number, as it might not positively impact her career, particularly given her focus on working with younger actors.

It’s no surprise that the creative team behind Venkat Prabhu’s films likely sought out Sreeleela for a role, given her captivating dance performances alongside Telugu star Mahesh Babu in the song Madathapetti, filmed in Guntur Kaaram.

In a recent update, it’s been proposed that Sreeleela chose to prioritize her project alongside Ajith Kumar in Good Bad Ugly, leading her to decline an offer for Thalapathy Vijay’s film. According to reports, she aims to make her acting debut in Kollywood rather than appearing in cameo roles initially. Subsequently, Trisha Krishnan was cast for the song that was originally intended for Sreeleela. However, it’s important to note that neither Sreeleela nor the producers of The GOAT have verified these claims.

In the lively tune “Matta,” the actress instantly steals the show with her captivating performance, reminiscent of a popular “kuthu” dance style. Notably, Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan team up once more on screen, mimicking their dance moves from Ghilli, Thirupachi, all the way to Kuruvi. Furthermore, poses from movies such as Kaththi and Leo were cleverly incorporated into this song.

Returning to the movie “The Greatest of All Time,” directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film starring Thalapathy Vijay features significant performances from Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, and Premgi Amaren.

As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, I can’t get enough of The Greatest of All Time! Besides Trisha Krishnan, Sivakarthikeyan makes a special appearance in this action-drama masterpiece. This gripping spy thriller unfolds the tale of a young field agent and spy who, along with his wife and son, resides in Delhi. Undercover as an ordinary government employee, he deceives even himself, whisking his family away to Thailand for a vacation. Little does he know, this escape will bring him face-to-face with his haunting past once more.
