The Gathering 2024: What happened at Turtle Soup?

As a seasoned Outlander fan and an attendee of The Gathering 2024, let me tell you, Fraser’s Ridge ticket holders are truly spoiled! I’ve been to fan events before, but nothing quite compares to the Turtle Soup event on Friday night. The chance to meet the cast in a more intimate setting is always a treat, and this year was no exception.

2024’s Gathering attendees with tickets for Fraser’s Ridge will have the opportunity to participate in a Turtle Soup gathering on the Friday evening of the event. Let me share some insights from this year’s festivities.

On Friday evening, Fraser’s Ridge provides an opportunity for attendees to mingle with the characters and learn more about them. The main attraction of the event is a dish creatively named Turtle Soup, inspired by a meal Claire encountered in ‘Outlander’. However, don’t expect to find that exact dish at this gathering!

Instead, here’s an opportunity to interact with the cast in a cozier environment. With ten cast members, they were divided into two per table, distributed among five tables.

Light food and drinks available to start

Before entering, the Sasnak team ensures that attendees are well taken care of. While others depart to find their own meals, Fraser’s Ridge ticket holders are invited to the glass bridge at the World War I Museum for a gathering and light refreshments. Additionally, an open bar is available for guests to savor drinks as they mingle with their fellow tier members.

This spans approximately 30 minutes, allowing everyone, including the performers, a chance to grab a bite. Given that Fridays can be quite lengthy otherwise!

Round-robin style meet and greets at The Gathering 2024

Upon their arrival, two individuals will be dispatched to each table. After that, there’s a 17-minute window for taking selfies and networking with the cast members. In contrast to past years, this year Sasnak City decided to mix things up a bit, moving the selfie session earlier in the event. This change sped up the proceedings, as everyone was eager to listen to the cast.

After 17 minutes elapsed, the actors would rise and rotate to the next round table. This circular motion continued for all actors at each table, repeating the process until every actor had visited each table.

It’s a great time to hear some fun stories. This time, cast members would sit together so that it could help prevent mini conversations happening at the table. The team members were also there to make sure people didn’t monopolize the cast with conversation. It is a favorite moment for a lot of Fraser’s Ridge ticket holders.
