The First Descendant Season 2’s best feature may be expanded with “other types of companions”

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that The First Descendant Season 2 has truly caught my attention. With its new playable duo, Ultimate Sharen, and an array of unique drip, it’s already shaping up to be a game-changer. However, what truly sets it apart for me is the prospect of expanding the companion system in the future.

A wealth of amazing content is in store for The First Descendant Season 2. This includes a fresh male-female playable duo, Ultimate Sharen, an array of exclusive styles, and more. Nexon’s next chapter promises to be nothing short of breathtaking. Although we eagerly anticipate all upcoming elements, we are particularly thrilled that “additional types of companions” could potentially expand The First Descendant Season 2’s best new feature in the future.

The launch date for Season 2 is set for December 5th. Apart from the excitement about the upcoming season, Nexon has also shared some insights about what’s in store after the game’s second installment. They are considering partnerships with other intellectual properties, and they aim to introduce additional matchmaking features to help players steer clear of frequent AFK (Away From Keyboard) cheaters.

Beyond what’s already been mentioned, I’m pumped to share that Nexon has got some exciting plans up their sleeve for The First Descendant! After introducing our first Fellow, a German Shepherd, in Season 2, they’re thinking about bringing even more canine companions into the game. Can’t wait to see who else will join us on this epic adventure!

Nexon is planning more “breeds” and “other types of companions” for The First Descendant

Among the exciting updates for The First Descendant Season 2, one standout addition is the inclusion of a German Shepherd dog character who acts as a companion, or “Fellow.” This was hinted at in the pre-release developer commentary, suggesting that players will have opportunities to engage with their canine friend.

The interactions involve actions such as stroking, handshakes, and playful high-fives, along with exciting activities like playing the conga. Furthermore, you’ll have the ability to personalize your pet buddy by altering their fur, skin, torso accessories, and head accessories.

Nexon hinted at a continuous flow of cosmetic items for their members, with potential for increased interactivities in the days to come.

In the second season of this captivating game, I’ve discovered a fascinating aspect about Fellows – they aren’t just for show or personalization. They serve a purpose! They can aid in “item farming,” but if I’m moving too swiftly, they might miss some items. Additionally, while the exact percentage increase isn’t revealed yet, Fellows are said to subtly boost the module drop rate.

It’s terrific to learn that a German Shepherd puppy will join us, but what’s even more exciting is the prospect of Nexon introducing additional dog “types” in the future. On The First Descendant Discord, TFD_Director_Jooms mentioned their intention is currently to refine the large shepherd-like dog, with plans to introduce new breeds down the line.

In addition to what the director mentioned, it appears that Nexon plans to broaden their offerings to include different kinds of virtual companions or pets. While the exact nature of these new companions remains unclear, animal and pet enthusiasts worldwide can look forward to this potential expansion.
