The First Descendant Season 1 roadmap upsets fans with Hailey and Ultimate Freyna revelation

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours clocked into various live-service games, I must admit that I find myself torn by the recent revelations about The First Descendant Season 1 roadmap. On one hand, I’m thrilled at the prospect of a new playable character like Hailey and the promise of fresh content. However, the delay in getting Ultimate Freyna has left me feeling a bit disappointed, much like a child waiting for Christmas only to find coal in their stocking.

The initial installment of The First Descendant is about to debut its opening act imminently. We’ve all had a great time with TFD during the pre-season, and it’s been exciting to introduce characters like Luna while incorporating community suggestions for improvements. As we eagerly anticipate Season 1, some fans of The First Descendant are expressing disappointment over the Season 1 plan due to a surprising reveal about Hailey and Ultimate Freyna.

Nexon has unveiled the preliminary Season 1 updates, offering insights into the forthcoming content such as fresh weapons and an enhanced difficulty level. The debut of Season 1 is slated for August 29th, and players will have the opportunity to control Hailey, a brand-new character. Her appearance exudes menace, and she bears a striking resemblance to the legendary Sniper Wolf from the initial Metal Gear Solid series.

Starting from day one, Hailey will join us, but it’s regrettable to announce that our beloved character, Ultimate Freyna, won’t debut until a few months later according to the official The First Descendant Season 1 schedule.

In the responses to the Twitter thread, numerous enthusiastic fans are expressing deep frustration over the slow release of content, often referred to as “drip feeding.” One user lamented, “I was eagerly anticipating season 1 based on the trailer, and now I’m left disheartened because it will take us two whole months to acquire Ultimate Freyna and all the accompanying content. This leaves us with a scarcity of content until then, which may lead to a significant decrease in your player base.”

In the online discussion forum dedicated to the game, there’s a split within the community. Some users are criticizing fellow fans for being too dramatic about the Season 1 plan, while others believe that the gradual release of content isn’t beneficial because “many players will have left by October 30”.

Some players are disappointed by the delayed launch of Ultimate Freyna, while an equal number express frustration with Nexon’s decision to separately release Hailey and her transcendent abilities (mods). These gamers are displeased that Nexon has chosen to roll out Hailey’s red mods two months after her initial release.

Besides voicing concerns about the gradual release of content, certain Reddit users have additionally pointed out that the Season 1 trailer might be deceptive because it gives an impression that all the depicted elements will be accessible from the very start.

As a dedicated gamer, I get why we all want instant access to everything, but it’s common sense in the world of live-service games that updates are rolled out over time – or seasons. The idea is simple: instead of exhausting the game content in one go, these updates keep us engaged and eager for more, preventing the feeling of ‘completion fatigue’.

As a seasoned gamer, here’s my take on optimizing your gaming experience:
