The Roadmap for The First Descendant in February 2025

The initial version of The First Descendant has shown continuous improvement with each substantial update, and fans have much to look forward to in the upcoming year. Season 3 is set for release in March, and enthusiasts can already sign up to experience S3 early, instead of having to wait for the new character to officially be rolled out. However, prior to March and Season 3, fans of TFD can expect several surprises throughout the month of love.

Although the precise roadmap for The First Descendant in February 2025 is yet to be finalized, we can already anticipate some exciting new skins and updates on the horizon.

The First Descendant February 2025 roadmap

Starting February 6th (that’s next Friday!), I’ll be diving back into The First Descendant with Update 1.2.6. There was no update on the 30th of January as Nexon celebrated Lunar New Year, so this is the latest patch following Update 1.2.5. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s confirmed for Update 1.2.6 so far:

– A new character, Xia, will join the game with her unique abilities and storyline.
– The ‘Abyssal Realm’ map will be expanded, offering more challenges and rewards.
– Balance adjustments have been made to several characters to ensure fair gameplay.
– Bug fixes and optimizations have been implemented across the game for a smoother gaming experience.

  • Void Erosion Purge leaderboard:
    • We are introducing a leaderboard for Void Erosion Purge that showcases the top players who complete the highest stages in the fastest time. You’ll be able to view rankings not only by platform but also by individual Descendants. Use the leaderboard to study the most effective builds and compete with other Descendants to set record-breaking clear times!
  • Augmentation Core Upgrade:
    • Craft Core can be accessed through Deslin—yes, it’s Deslin again! This system allows you to combine lower-tier Augmentation Cores and materials obtained from Void Erosion Purge to create higher-tier Cores. With this update, you’ll be able to craft up to Tier 10 Augmentation Cores, empowering your Ultimate Weapons to reach their full potential.
  • Void Erosion Purge Stage 30
    • New stages, ranging from 21 to 30, will be added to Void Erosion Purge. These stages are significantly more challenging than Stage 20 and will introduce new environments to enhance the experience. The higher the stage, the better the rewards, such as higher-tier Augmentation Cores, but the difficulty will also increase accordingly. Prepare carefully and challenge these new stages to compete on the leaderboard rankings.
  • Keyboard and mouse support on consoles

Following the above, Nexon has then confirmed the following:

February 13th:

  • New hot spring-themed skins
  • New event
  • New Valentine’s Day skins

Unfortunately, we haven’t had a sneak peek at the Hot Spring-themed skins or the Valentine’s Day costumes as of now. Nexon plans to unveil these upcoming skins and the new event during their next developer livestream, which is set for “early February.” However, an exact date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to take place between February 3rd and February 7th.

After the developer’s live stream, we’ll revise this article. The highly-anticipated Season 3 is slated for release in March, and Nexon has verified that it will bring about the long-awaited photo mode and a new Fellow. In addition, they are planning to incorporate “jiggle physics” into the game in May.
