As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that The First Descendant has quickly become one of my favorite games this year. The community-driven approach to development is refreshing and it’s been fascinating to watch the game evolve based on player feedback. However, the current debate over loot sharing has me torn.
In less than a month since its release, The First Descendant has garnered an enthusiastic fanbase who often propose creative ways to enhance the game. Nexon has taken note of these suggestions, making necessary adjustments and improvements based on feedback. Currently, the player community is divided over a proposition for loot sharing that mirrors Warframe’s system, sparking heated debates among fans.
Nexon has officially announced that Season 1 will launch on August 29th. They’ve given us a sneak peek into Hailey’s abilities, and the trailer has revealed that we’ll be receiving Ultimate Freyna. TFD is set to make an appearance at Gamescom 2024 as part of Microsoft’s exhibition on August 23rd, alongside other anticipated releases for this year like Metaphor ReFantazio, which is also slated to hit the shelves in 2024.
As a dedicated gamer diving headfirst into “The First Descendant” Season 1, I’m beyond thrilled! The game’s potential for growth beyond 2024 is nothing short of exhilarating. Currently, the game is in great form, but there’s always room for improvement. However, the concept of loot sharing has sparked a divide within our gaming community.
The First Descendant fans split over loot sharing
On r/TheFirstDescendant, user Unusual-Surprise9992 posted an entry titled “Let’s All Swap Our Rewards”. They suggested that if Nexon allowed players to choose their amorphous material pattern before embarking on a mission, similar to Warframe, the grinding process would be more enjoyable for everyone. Additionally, after defeating the boss, players could select from their own loot and that of their teammates at the end.
The concept of loot sharing aims to reduce the effort required for collecting loot by approximately half or more. The user kindly requests the community to upvote this post in order to share this idea with Nexon.

At the moment, the post boasts 855 upvotes and around 350 responses. Many of these replies express support for the original poster’s concept, hoping that Nexon will put it into practice. One response suggests that this could encourage team play, while another points out that such a change would be beneficial considering the high randomness involved in opening Amorphous Materials.
There are also other comments referring to Warframe such as, “That’s the one thing Warframe actually does better imo. Feels bad to farm together with a friend and only one of us gets the item we were looking for”.
Another reply in opposition says, “Warframe has an actual economy where part of the endgame is accruing wealth in preparation of future releases. This makes over-farming lucrative and rewarding (meaning, people won’t stop farming just because their builds are complete). In this game, once you complete your builds, you are done – you close this game and play something else. There’s no PvP or Raids like Destiny, or economic progression like Warframe. Nothing”.
Regarding the concept of loot sharing, it’s currently uncertain if or when it will be enacted since Nexon has yet to discuss or comment on the topic. Possible changes may occur at a later time, but for now, no modifications are planned during Season 1.
