The news that Nexon is considering adding a Labrador Retriever has me wagging my proverbial tail with excitement!
One standout feature of The First Descendant Season 2 is the arrival of new characters known as Fellows. So far, our canine companion has been a German Shepherd, and he’s certainly living up to his reputation as a well-behaved dog. However, more furry friends are set to join the cast, and Nexon has given us a sneak peek at the next Fellow destined for The First Descendant. Unfortunately, this news might not sit well with cat enthusiasts.

The First Descendant next Fellow
Prior to the release of Season 2, Nexon hinted at introducing new kinds of companions for The First Descendant. During their Void Chaser live stream on December 12th, they unveiled more details about upcoming features.
During a Q&A session at approximately 01:02:04, Nexon disclosed their intentions to incorporate keyboard and mouse functionality onto consoles sometime within mid-January to February. Subsequently, they delved into details about the upcoming companion for TFD that they’re developing.
According to the English interpretation, “the next dog is a Labrador Retriever, so it will be adorable.” It’s unclear if Nexon meant this dog is an adult rather than a puppy, given that the German Shepherd was also referred to as a “pup.” It’s also uncertain if there was a misunderstanding when mentioning a Golden Retriever and Labrador together. It could be that we might be getting one of them, or perhaps Nexon is considering adding both dogs, either at the same time or separately.
We’re really keen on having a Golden Retriever or a Labrador because they truly embody the title “man’s best friend.” These breeds are not only beautiful but also fantastic companions. The more of them around, the merrier!
It seems that cats won’t be making an appearance in TFD anytime soon, as they may not align with the game’s theme due to their independent nature.
There’s a chance that Nexon might reconsider and introduce cats at some point, however, for the moment, it seems like dogs are in charge, while cats tend to be messy.
