As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more than a few gaming fiascoes, I must say, it’s refreshing to see a developer like Nexon truly listening to their players and making changes based on feedback. The improvements they’ve made to Hailey’s farming rate in The First Descendant are a testament to their dedication to their community.
Season 1 of “The First Descendant” has started, bringing a wealth of fresh content, enhancements to gameplay quality, and necessary repairs. Among these upgrades, Nexon has unveiled a brand-new playable character, Hailey Scott. There have been concerns regarding her acquisition rate, and in response, Nexon is working to boost the drop rate for Hailey as an apology to “The First Descendant” players.
You can check out the update 1.1.0 patch notes to see everything new in TFD Season 1. In addition, Nexon has shared rewards for completing Daily and LTM challenges between now and September 9th. While part one of S1 is out, the second portion of the chapter will arrive on October 10th. Season 1 was originally split into three parts, but Nexon changed the schedule following fan feedback.
Nexon has excelled in managing TFD since its debut, and one of the standout features is their openness to feedback from the community. If a change is needed, they’re quick to adapt their strategy accordingly. This was evident once more when they adjusted Hailey’s farming rate based on fan input.
The First Descendant devs are changing Hailey’s farming rate
On the official X account of the game, Nexon announced to The First Descendant enthusiasts that they will be adjusting the farming rate for Hailey, which is set to take place during this Saturday’s Hotfix 1.1.0b. Furthermore, they plan to revise the Invasion Dungeons in the upcoming 1.1.1 update, scheduled for next week.
Below is dev note vol.13 as shared on X:
Hello, Successors! This is Minseok Joo, Director of The First Descendant. I’d like to extend my sincere apologies for any trouble caused since the Season 1 Update. Your support means a great deal to us, and our Development Team is working tirelessly to address the current problems at hand. In this update, we want to discuss some solutions concerning the Invasion Dungeon and Hailey’s farming difficulty.
Summary
Changes Coming to Invasion Dungeon and Inversion Reinforcement: We’re making it easier by simplifying puzzle mechanics, increasing the number of monsters appearing, boosting Inversion Reinforcement, and removing penalties. These updates will be rolled out in our 1.1.1 Update next week.
Boosting the Drop Rate for Hailey’s Farming Equipment: In the upcoming 1.1.0b update, we’re enhancing the chances of obtaining Hailey’s farming equipment drops.
ㆍImproved Development Process : FGT and prior feedback in consideration
Enhancing Community Interaction: We’ll ensure to actively listen, understand, and consider everyone’s thoughts, striving for the best possible advancements.
To enhance the speed and quality of play in Invasion Dungeons, we’ll reduce puzzle complexity and control the number of spawned monsters. For Order of Truth, we aim to make it more memorable by simplifying the pattern, removing Arche pillars without patterns, and adjusting their direction towards the battlefield. Additionally, we will design the drone’s pattern vertically and make tumors that obstruct patterns or block doors easier to eliminate. Lastly, destroyed tumors will no longer regenerate, improving the overall gaming experience.
1. The Legion of Darkness will make Arche Tiles change faster, making their arrangement more noticeable. This should reduce the number of incorrect tiles and eliminate self-destructive monsters that take them. In color puzzles, we’ll include extra symbols to help those with color blindness play more comfortably. Lastly, the health points for named monsters will be lessened.
Similar to other Legions, the puzzle dynamics within the Legion of Immortality are being simplified. As the Invasion for the Legion of Immortality kicks off today, we’ll be refining our responses based on the day’s feedback, aiming for more targeted solutions.
Furthermore, we’re enhancing Inversion Reinforcement as well. Our goal is to make this system accessible and enjoyable for all, so we’re boosting its main effects and removing any associated penalties.
Next Thursday on the 1.1.1 Update, we’re making improvements to the Challenge Level for Invasive Dungeons and enhancing Inversion Reinforcement. Our aim is to make the Invasion Dungeon more enjoyable for everyone with these changes. Following this update, we plan to implement a multiplayer mode in the Invasion Dungeon using matchmaking systems, allowing users to team up and play together!
Additionally, the frequency at which Hailey’s Equipment Material (Enhanced Cells, DNA, Stabilizer, Spiral Catalyst, Data Chip) is obtained during Invasion and Infiltration Missions will be boosted.
Our Development Team aimed to ensure that even those with limited time could comfortably complete Hailey within an average of 12 days, and also provide enhanced assistance for users who wish to speed up Hailey’s progress via the Infiltration Operation by dedicating more time.
In response to users’ feedback suggesting that Hailey’s farming process is lengthy, we intend to enhance the drop rate of Hailey’s Equipment Material, effectively reducing the time needed to create Hailey by approximately twofold.
The drop rate for Hailey’s Equipment Material will be updated this Saturday on Hotfix 1.1.0b.
Moving forward, we aim to enhance our product development to align with our players’ expectations during upcoming updates. To achieve this, we are contemplating two options: first, conducting Focus Group Testing once development is finished; second, soliciting player feedback before the update goes live and incorporating their suggestions into the final version.
Our development team is carefully considering diverse feedback on our initial significant update from the community. We’re committed to addressing concerns swiftly, keeping everyone informed about the planned improvements, and striving to create an experience with The First Descendant that lasts for a long time.
Thank you.”
