The First Descendant devs change Season 1 schedule as they listen to fans again

As a seasoned TFD player who has been part of this community since its inception, I can’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction and appreciation towards Nexon for their latest decision to revise The First Descendant Season 1 schedule. It’s not often that developers make such significant changes so close to the release date, especially when they are listening to fan feedback.

In a user-friendly manner: From the very beginning, players have adored The First Descendant as an outstanding multiplayer game, with one of its standout features being Nexon’s consistent support and attentiveness to community feedback. However, some fans were displeased with the original Season 1 roadmap. Now, in response to further input from the community, Nexon has adjusted the schedule for The First Descendant Season 1.

Fans won’t have to wait long as the release date for Season 1 is on August 29th! A fresh playable character named Hailey will be joining us, and Nexon has unveiled preliminary Season 1 patch notes, which outline modifications, fixes, and enhancements, together with new weapons, a tougher difficulty level, and additional features. Additionally, we’re excited to introduce Ultimate Freyna, whose latest appearance is already captivating fans everywhere!

Initially, some enthusiasts expressed disappointment with the rollout schedule for Season 1 due to the gradual release of fresh content. However, in response to feedback from the gaming community, Nexon has decided to expedite the arrival of new content from The First Descendant Season 1. Instead of coming out in three waves, it will now be released in two, allowing fans to enjoy the updates sooner.

Nexon changes The First Descendant Season 1 schedule

Based on feedback from The First Descendant’s fanbase, Nexon has adjusted the initial release schedule for Season 1. Despite the shift, the season is still scheduled to debut on August 29th. Here’s a message from producer Lee Beom-jun addressing the TFD community about the update:

“Greetings, Descendants. This The First Descendant’s Producer, Lee Beom-jun.

First, I would like to thank all Descendants for enjoying our game.

Lately, it seems there’s been some worry regarding the release timeline for Season 1. To address this concern, we’ve decided to make some adjustments.

We’re accelerating our timeline; instead of the original date on October 30th, we will now be updating on October 10th.

The original plan for the timetable was set up to ensure monthly updates following each piece of content publication.

However, I have to admit that I’ve failed to fully meet your expectations.

Instead of having three smaller updates, we’ll break down Season 1 into just two larger ones, with one coming on August 29th and another on October 10th.

Additionally, we’ve started exploring potential ways to upgrade our approaches for the forthcoming seasons ahead.

Instead, our third update for Season 1, previously scheduled, will be combined with the second update. As you may recall, this combination is set to occur on October 10th.

Currently, the Dev team is working on continuous updates and hotfixes since our official launch.

We’re making several changes and adopting different strategies, including restructuring our development workflow and actively hiring more team members.

We will do our best to prepare better updates that will make you satisfied.

Thank you.”
