The First Descendant devs end PS4 and Xbox One support
During the live broadcast of The First Descendant Season 2 Episode 2, it was revealed by Nexon that they will no longer provide updates or assistance for The First Descendant on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as of June 19th. This marks the end of support for these older gaming systems.
It seems that Nexon has faced challenges in continuing to develop MapleStory on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. To enhance player satisfaction with the game, they are focusing their efforts on creating more substantial updates, such as Season 3, which is a significant seasonal update, rather than maintaining support for these platforms.
Nexon has confirmed again that The First Descendant won’t be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One following the June 19th update. But don’t worry, your game data will still be stored, allowing you to move your progress and save files over to either PS5 or Xbox Series X/S instead.
Although this news may disappoint players using last-generation systems, it appears to be a sensible move for the game to ensure it’s not hindered by outdated platforms any longer. As things stand, The Fantastic Dungeon (TFD) is already less optimal on PS4 and Xbox One compared to current-gen and PC versions, and this disparity would likely widen with each new and larger update that Nexon releases, including the eagerly awaited jiggle physics feature.
