The First Descendant dev responds to fans craving price changes for Season 2 skins

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from groundbreaking innovations to disappointingly stagnant price points. The news about The First Descendant Season 2 has me in a bit of a pickle, much like trying to juggle a dozen rare loot boxes while navigating a labyrinth of pixelated obstacles.

Nexon has unveiled their plans for Season 2 of The First Descendant, complete with detailed developer insights. Players are thrilled about the incoming new Ultimate, two fresh characters, a brand-new boss, and an array of fresh skins. Although fans are ecstatic over the newly unveiled outfits, it’s disappointing to learn that prices for The First Descendant Season 2 skins will remain unchanged.

You’ll be eagerly waiting until December 5th for the release of Season 2 of The First Descendant. Additionally, two fresh characters are on their way for gamers to get excited about, and the new Ultimate character is Sharen. In addition to what was shared in the developer commentary, Nexon has unveiled a previously undisclosed feature, and they aim to incorporate “jiggle physics” in the future, offering suitable settings for users.

Furthermore, significant advancements are underway in skin designs that embrace body diversity and break free from seasonality constraints. Although many players appreciate the aesthetics of the costumes, numerous enthusiasts continue to express a desire for adjustments in pricing for these skins.

Nexon is not changing the price for skins in The First Descendant Season 2

Ever since The First Descendant debuted, there’s consistently been criticism online regarding the high prices of skins. Additionally, there have been concerns expressed about how Nexon manages the sale of cosmetic dyes as well.

As a fellow gamer, I’ve got some news about TFD Season 2 that I think you’ll find intriguing. The positive side is that we’ll now have the option to purchase attachments and individual skin components – which is great for customization! However, on the downside, it seems Nexon isn’t planning any adjustment in the overall pricing of skins, so get ready for those costs to stay consistent.

On Discord, TFD_PD_Lee was informed that the upcoming skins for season 2 look fantastic, but it would be ideal to see price adjustments soon. The player expressed a desire for the game to thrive and succeed, suggesting that lower prices could encourage more players to spend and boost player retention. In essence, the user argued that spending $15 on a skin for 50 people is more beneficial than spending $50 on a skin for just 10 people.

As a passionate player, I’ve been hoping for a slight reduction in skin prices, but it seems like Nexon isn’t planning any adjustments at the moment. In fact, even when skins are made universal, their costs will stay the same. Some have proposed that an increase could be acceptable with universality, but we’re all on the same page, sticking to the current prices for now.

While we’re pleased to inform you that there won’t be any price hikes, unfortunately, there won’t be a decrease either. However, on a positive note, Nexon intends to keep broadening the accessibility of skins as rewards (through events, battle passes, boss defeats, etc.) instead of limiting them solely to paid content.
