The Finals update 6.4.0 patch notes:
Below are The Finals update 6.4.0 patch notes:
This week’s news focuses on carefully orchestrated excitement. We’re fine-tuning our tools for accuracy, turning up the heat with high-energy game show antics, and donning our chic ensembles in the process.
In gameplay terms, we’re adjusting the balance of two frequently discussed weapons in the Arena:
1. The CB-01 Repeater will now inflict more damage on environmental objects, making it much more effective against deployables and ziplines.
2. The Minigun is getting an improvement in accuracy when used with sustained fire. At this point, we’re not altering the spin-up mechanism, but we are considering it as the season continues.
This week, the second installment of Bunny Bash has kicked off, offering you a fresh set of task agreements to conquer for some fantastic prizes!
World Tour: Protocol Overdrive (Sponsored by ENGIMO)
ENGIMO is redefining chaos – again.
In the game Protocol Overdrive, instead of appearing only once per game, the events of the gameshow happen consecutively, placing players in an unyielding series of challenges that involve dangerous environmental obstacles and chaotic alien situations.
Prepare for fleeting intervals of tranquility amidst chaotic episodes, as Meteor Showers and Alien Invasions disrupt gameplay in quick succession. Players need to react swiftly to these unexpected events, barely getting a chance to catch their breath before another calamity strikes.
Arenas in rotation:
- SYS$HORIZON
- Bernal
- Kyoto
- Las Vegas Stadium
Over in the store, we’ve got a wild lineup of new cosmetics ready to drop:
- Night Munchies Set“Carrots optional, casualties guaranteed.”
Suit up in the Predator Payload outfit, complete with Assault Rabbit headgear and glowing Warren Glare eyes. Fluffy on the outside, ruthless on the inside. - Arena Vision Set“For contestants who see every angle in THE FINALS.”
Featuring the Sappy Ending skin for the Cerberus, Sledgehammer, and SR-84. Because every story should end with a bang. - Opulent Heavy Bundle“Devastating luxury, tailored for destruction.”
Dominate the battlefield with Skullbound Oblivion skins for the Shak-50, Flamethrower, and M60 – dark, ominous, and absurdly stylish.
Balance Changes
Weapons
CB-01 Repeater
- Increased environmental damage from 8 to 18
Tech Memo: Due to the earlier setting, the Repeater found it challenging to eliminate ziplines. This adjustment is intended to alleviate this issue.
M134 Minigun
- Decreased bullet dispersion when standing still and ‘focus firing’ (secondary fire) by approximately 10%, making the weapon more accurate
- Decreased bullet dispersion when moving and focus firing by approximately 10%, making the weapon more accurate
As a gamer, I’ve found myself drawn to the Minigun due to its unique spin-up mechanic that forces me to adapt my playstyle compared to other weapons. This could mean using shields strategically while spinning up or relying on Proximity Sensors for early warnings, giving me time to prepare. Although some players have suggested it’s a tad underpowered, I appreciate the challenge it presents. We won’t be hastily reducing its spin-up time and making it more responsive because we fear it might just turn into another Light Machine Gun (LMG). Instead, we’re focusing on tweaking the weapon’s accuracy to make it a bit more potent at longer ranges. In terms of overall performance, our data shows the Minigun holding its own within the weapon pack, so we’re generally pleased with how it functions.
We currently find the ability to maintain spin-up state while moving with the Minigun a bit too straightforward. Therefore, we plan to reevaluate this aspect and possibly adjust it during this season. Our goal is to ensure players are ready for using the Minigun in their gameplay, but any changes made might require additional modifications to keep the overall balance. We’ll observe how things unfold as the season progresses.
