As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I have to admit that The Finals update 3.8.0 has piqued my interest. The addition of the Emerald Rank and the DISSUN Challenge is a welcome change, especially after last week’s lackluster update.
In keeping with its regular routine, The Finals has rolled out another update this week. Thankfully, unlike last week’s adjustment, this is a substantial update in the form of patch 3.8.0. You can now review the patch notes for The Finals update 3.8.0, which introduce the Emerald Rank and some repairs, as well as further modifications to World Tour.
Prior to this week’s update, Embark announced that they would be incorporating a fresh Rank called Emerald in their World Tour. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from this new rank. Furthermore, there seems to be a hint of a future legendary skin reward for an anticipated community event, although it’s not yet officially confirmed. However, many players are expressing dissatisfaction with Season 3, stating that it’s been marred by significant adjustments and the overpowering influence of the Light class.
Although weapon adjustments aren’t part of this update, it’s worth noting that World Tour and other aspects will undergo substantial modifications, plus some fixes. The details for the Finals update 3.8.0 are out now, offering a lot to consider.
The Finals update 3.8.0 patch notes
Below are The Finals update 3.8.0 patch notes:
Today marks the opening of the last round in the World Tour, accessible for players who have attained the Gold 1 tier on their World Tour Badge. Here, you can advance your badge level beyond Gold, all the way to Emerald. As you ascend each tier, new rewards will become available. In this final stage, points are only awarded for winning an entire World Tour tournament, making it a tough test for our veteran players to prove their commitment and skill.
We’re moving on to our next destination on the World Tour – the DISSUN Challenge. Here, we’ve made some adjustments to the rules, such as reinstating a 10% cash penalty for team wipes. Don’t forget to participate in the DISSUN Challenge, and all THE FINALS, with your friends or teammates because we’re also introducing additional Battle Pass XP when playing together!
Regarding bug-fixes, we’ve addressed the issue causing an infinite loading screen, resolved the problem that made the contestant selection screen excessively bright, and sorted out the challenge of unscalable stairs in Kyoto.
Full list of changes below:
Balance Changes
Game Modes
World Tour
- Teams now lose 10% of their cash total on team wipe
Dev Note: The rule changes we tested during the VOLPE Championship seem to have had positive results both with the community and in the analytics data we’ve been looking at. For our next World Tour stop, the DISSUN Challenge, we’ll keep testing this rule set, but with team wipe penalties reintroduced at 10%. This will allow us to continue to monitor how these changes impact the game. Huge thanks to everyone who provided feedback and impressions over the past two weeks!
- Increased the number of Win Points earned for reaching the second round of a tournament from 5 to 7
- Increased the number of Win Points earned for reaching the final of a tournament from 12 to 16
- Increased the number of Win Points earned for winning a tournament from 20 to 26
Dev Note: Win Points are not accumulative. They are awarded based on where you finished in a tournament, meaning that if you win a tournament, you earn 26 points in total.
