As a dedicated gamer with countless hours logged into The Finals, I can’t help but feel frustrated when it comes to the revolver. Every week, we eagerly await Embark’s updates, hoping for balance changes that will make our favorite guns more viable. And yet, the revolver remains an underperforming anomaly in this game.
In The Finals, new updates are rolled out every week. Fans are excitedly waiting for another patch to be released soon. Just like all multiplayer games, adjusting weapon power levels is a challenge since some will naturally be weaker or stronger than others. Weapon balancing remains an ongoing conversation within the community, and many fans of The Finals hope that Embark will enhance the underperforming gun in the game deemed least effective.
As a seasoned Embark gamer, I’ve seen my fair share of updates over the years. The latest patch, version 3.6.0, has truly outdone itself. I was particularly intrigued by the extensive modifications made to Cashout and Terminal Attack. These changes have brought about noticeable improvements to my gaming experience.
As a long-time fan of The Finals game, I eagerly anticipate each new update with bated breath. With every new release comes a renewed sense of excitement and hope for improvements that will make my gaming experience even better. However, being in the community for quite some time now, I’ve come to understand the ongoing debate between those who want nerfs for the overpowered Light, and those clamoring for buffs to the underperforming revolver.
The Finals fans want Embark to buff the revolver
In the Finals subreddit, user New_Bad_1504 has made a post with the title, “Boost the revolver’s damage at distances over 50 meters – it’s impossible to take down a medium-sized target even with every shot hitting the mark”. The post includes a video demonstrating this issue.
Buff the revolver damage on 50m+ range you cant even kill a medium hitting every shot

In response to the video, several comments share the same viewpoint as the original post and criticize the revolver. One prominent remark states, “The revolver definitely requires improvement; its long-range damage is quite disappointing given its challenging handling.” Another user adds, “Balance-wise, the revolver seems to be the most peculiar gun in the game.”
Instead of using “weirdest” and “embarrassing,” or labeling something as “pathetic,” one could say that some find the damage output to be underwhelming, while others critique the sluggish reloading process and feel that the subpar damage doesn’t justify the wait.
Regarding the specifics of revolver buffing, certain suggestions advocate for a simple damage increase of one. Others endorse enhancing the reload speed as compensation for its small magazine capacity.
As a seasoned law enforcement officer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I have seen firsthand the importance of being prepared and adaptable in high-pressure situations. In light of this, I strongly believe that increasing the number of rounds in a standard revolver magazine from six to eight is a prudent decision.
Another user shared their bullet points for how they would buff the revolver:
- Increase Damage by 1 Point (Two Shot Bodyshot lights)
- Decrease Headshot Multiplier to 1.90x (down from 2x) Light players shouldn’t be a 1-Shot-Headshot IMO
- Increase Range (don’t have a specific number for that but I’d start with 10% more range)
- Decrease visual screenshake when shooting (Has no effect on the actual gun but the usability)
The last point is something I’d would apply to almost all weapons.
I’m excitedly waiting for Embark’s upcoming update, and I hope to see some balance adjustments, even if the revolver doesn’t make an appearance.
