The Finals devs are “super sorry for lengthy delay” as fans blame Microsoft

As a dedicated fan of The Finals, I can’t help but feel frustrated and disappointed by the ongoing delay of update 3.4.0 for Xbox players. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this patch with bated breath, excited about the potential weapon nerfs and buffs, as well as the long-awaited return of Cashout in Ranked through the new Emerald rank.

Last week brought a significant overhaul to The Finals, the largest update since Season 3’s debut. Simultaneously released on PS5 and PC, unfortunately, Xbox users missed out. Apologetically, The Finals developers expressed their regret for the prolonged wait, while some fans have shifted the blame towards Microsoft.

As a long-time fan of Cashout, I’m thrilled to hear that the rumored Emerald rank is indeed coming with the upcoming 3.4.0 update. From my gaming experience, I can tell you that this new rank holds great significance for players who have been eagerly waiting for the return of Cashout in Ranked mode. The patch notes reveal some weapon adjustments and game mode tweaks, but the real excitement lies in the potential revival of Cashout.

On PS5 and PC platforms, The Finals’ supporters are excitedly looking forward to a fresh update due out this week. In contrast, Xbox users are currently in a holding pattern, continuing their wait for the release of version 3.4.0.

The Finals fans on Xbox blame Microsoft for 3.4.0 delay

As a gamer, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of update 3.4.0 in the Finals, but unfortunately, it hasn’t gone as smoothly as we hoped. The patch was supposed to drop on both PS5 and PC on July 12th, but it got delayed twice before making it to those platforms. However, I’ve got some disappointing news for my fellow Xbox gamers – the update is still holding up in your consoles’ queues. We’ll just have to wait a little longer for this one.

On the game’s official Discord, Embark Oscar provided the following announcement:

Hi Xbox community! I’m here to give you an update on the ongoing collaboration between us developers and Microsoft regarding the hold-up on the 3.4 release for Xbox. Unfortunately, I don’t have a definitive timeline yet for when this issue will be resolved. rest assured, as soon as I receive any new information, I’ll pass it along to you all. We genuinely apologize for the extended wait and we appreciate your patience as we work diligently to find a solution.

On July 12th, Embark only mentioned that they were waiting for a response from Xbox regarding the problem, with no further details provided about what exactly was causing the delay.

I’m bummed out that there’s no estimated time for when the new update will drop for us Xbox gamers. Normally, we get a fresh patch every week, but unfortunately, that routine has been disrupted due to this unexpected delay.

Fans are guessing that Embark’s update delay might be related to the console verification process, even though Embark hasn’t clarified the exact problem. The patch for PS5 was launched three days ago, so it’s a mystery what could be causing the hold-up at Microsoft. Let’s hope Microsoft approves the update release for Embark soon.
