The Finals dev teases big updates are coming for a “whole bunch of weapons” in new patch

It’s been quite enjoyable playing The Finals Season 5, but there hasn’t been much in the way of substantial balance adjustments across the entire chapter. Update 5.7.0 primarily focused on store rotations, while other updates were geared towards LTM events like Christmas and Lunar New Year celebrations. However, for players eagerly anticipating balance changes, The Finals developers have hinted at major updates approaching for a variety of weapons.

The Finals dev teases weapon balance changes for next update

On the 30th of January, I hosted a live stream for The Finals’ grand finale. As usual, it was our community night, but this time there was an exciting twist – Waterdance joined us as a special guest!

While tuning into the livestream, I was excited to hear that someone asked about potential balance adjustments in the upcoming update. Although Oscar didn’t want to reveal too much, he shared that our team at Embark has thoroughly examined a plethora of weapons for possible tweaks. Additionally, they mentioned that we have also taken a close look at Cashout as a whole.

It appears that Oscar has shared only what’s been revealed so far, but we’re looking forward to future weapon updates in Patch 5.8.0, tentatively scheduled for release on February 5th (assuming there are no unexpected delays).

In Season 5, there haven’t been significant adjustments to the balance of weapons, with only minor tweaks in version 5.6.0. Fans have been eagerly anticipating more changes like buffs and nerfs. Here’s hoping that the upcoming updates from Embark will be positively received by the community.

It’s intriguing to observe how Embark might further tweak the Cashout feature. In the version 5.6.0, Embark implemented a few enhancements such as adjusting respawn positions for players to prevent them from being too near enemies or objectives, and ensuring they aren’t placed excessively far away either. Now, we look forward to seeing any additional modifications they may introduce.
