Beyond the urban expanse of Anvil is nestled the Whitmond Farm, the domicile of Maeva the Plump. Here, adventurers can converse with Maeva to embark upon the “When the Vow Breaks” mission in “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered”. Besides receiving a substantial amount of Gold at the outset of their journey, players may also acquire valuable weapons and equipment as they advance through this quest.
In the game “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered”, the town of Anvil is situated at the southwestern tip of Cyrodiil. You can quickly teleport to Anvil by clicking on its symbol in the world map, and then a short journey north will lead you to Whitmond farm, making it easy to find.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered – How to Complete the When the Vow Breaks Quest
Maeva, a cheerful NPC with a plump figure, shares stories about her husband upon initiation of conversation. To trigger the “When the Vow Breaks” quest and discover details about her missing spouse and the legendary Rockshatter magical mace, opt for the “Husband” dialogue choice. It seems that Bjalfi, Maeva’s husband, has taken possession of Rockshatter and is hiding out with some raiders at Fort Strand, a location southeast of Whitmond farm. Once you accept the quest, the map marker for Fort Strand will automatically appear on your map.
At Fort Strand, you’ll find formidable foes, but it’s definitely a place worth cleaning up. As you move cautiously through the area, defeating adversaries along the way, you’ll eventually come across Bjalfi the Despised. This character is hostile towards the player. Eliminate him to obtain Rockshatter from his remains, which will then lead you to the next quest stage – returning the weapon to Maeva.
In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the weapon called Rockshatter inflicts Shock Damage and weakens an enemy’s resistance to Shock. However, it’s not as potent as the Long Sword of Flames. You might want to return Rockshatter to Maeva if you need some gold, since the reward for doing so starts at 20 gold when you’re level 1 and increases by 25 gold per level thereafter. Once you’re ready, return Rockshatter to Maeva to finish the When the Vow Breaks quest.
Maeva is a Perfect Target for The Dark Brotherhood
Following the handover of Rockshatter to Maeva, this particular enchanted Dwarven Mace will simply be categorized as common. As she doesn’t appear in any other quests, Maeva serves as an ideal starting point for embarking on the Dark Brotherhood questline within The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Eliminating her won’t result in a bounty or boost your infamy. When you feel prepared, you may proceed with the task at hand.
You can now grab a hold of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or PC through Steam!
