On March 28, 2025, the Tamil horror-thriller “The Door” premiered in cinemas. This film, helmed by director Jaiiddev, received a blend of positive and negative critiques and underperformed at the box office. Now, it has secured an OTT deal, offering it another opportunity to captivate viewers through small screens.

Beginning May 16, “The Door” will be available for streaming on the Simply South app, with the exception of India. The OTT titan announced this on X.

As a meticulous admirer recounting my own tale, I found myself thrust into the role of architect, Mithra, who was unexpectedly assigned to a construction site following my father’s enigmatic accident. Upon my arrival, I couldn’t shake off an unsettling feeling as workers around me mysteriously succumbed to their ends. The strange occurrences didn’t end there, for soon enough, I started encountering inexplicable paranormal events on the very same site.

She begins experiencing vivid dreams and auditory hallucinations, eventually understanding that she serves as a conduit for the spirits of a mother and her daughter. These spirits were unfortunate casualties from a dispute over property rights that transpired in the 1990s.

Mithra delves into her father’s ancient paperwork, and she unearths connections between his past and the location’s bloody past. Throughout her probe, she meets various individuals, such as a paranormal specialist, crooked ex-cops, and unscrupulous physicians. Each of these people played a role in the initial crime. Ultimately, the investigation leads to Nandha Kumar, the hidden villain, who is right under everyone’s nose. The rest of the movie unfolds as you watch it.
