Oh boy, Netflix just keeps hitting it out of the park with their renewals! As someone who’s been binge-watching since the early days of DVD rentals, I can confidently say that these two shows are absolute gems.
The Diplomat and Nobody Wants This have both been renewed by Netflix.
In September 2024, the highly successful comedy series “Nobody Wants This” kicked off its inaugural season on Netflix. The show was brought to life by creator Erin Foster and features the talented cast of Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, and Timothy Simons.
The popular series has been given another chance; Netflix has confirmed a second season! Check out the announcement video below (more trailers and clips available):
At a social gathering, an open-minded podcast moderator and an eccentric rabbi finding themselves in similar circumstances unexpectedly leave the event hand-in-hand. Joanne, portrayed by Kristen Bell, and Noah, played by Adam Brody, sense a connection, but complications may arise due to their contrasting worldviews, contemporary hurdles in romance, and meddling relatives – notably her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).
Jenni Konner, Bruce Eric Kaplan, and Nora Silver have been announced as new members of the team for Nobody Wants This Season 2, set to debut in 2025. They will serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Kaplan and Konner taking on these roles jointly, while Silver will also contribute as an executive producer.
Netflix renews The Diplomat for a third season
Apart from that, it’s been confirmed that The Diplomat will return for a third installment on Netflix. The initial season, featuring Keri Russell, debuted in April 2023, and the second season is slated to stream from October 31, 2024.
Currently, work is being done on The Diplomat’s Season 3. Debora Cahn, who originally conceived the show, is back as executive producer for this season, joined by Russell, Janice Williams, and Alex Graves. Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh are among the main cast members in the series.
In Season 3, the game board turns upside down. For Season 3 of the show, there’s no confirmed release date as yet, but according to Cahn, this season presents Kate with a unique nightmare – the reality of achieving one’s desires.
