Lucy Liu joins The Devil Wears Prada 2 cast with B.J. Novak and others
According to a report by Variety, actors including Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora have been added to the cast for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The second installment of “The Devil Wears Prada” is reportedly being made right now, with a planned premiere on May 1, 2026. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are set to reappear in their previous characters for the movie’s continuation.
Tracie Thoms comes back as Lily, while Tibor Feldman repeats his performance as Irv Ravitz. Simone Ashley is introduced to the cast with an enigmatic character, as per Deadline reports. Kenneth Branagh steps into the shoes of Miranda Priestly’s husband. Unfortunately, Adrian Grenier, who played Nate Cooper in the original movie, will not be reprising his role this time around.
The next installment focuses on Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Meryl Streep, as she maneuvers through the downfall of conventional magazine publication industry. She’s involved in a power clash with Blunt’s character, who has risen to become a high-ranking executive at a prominent fashion conglomerate that holds significant advertising dollars. David Frankel and Aline Brosh McKenna rejoin as director and screenwriter respectively, while producer Karen Rosenfelt remains on board.
Lucy Liu, famed for roles in Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and Presence, teams up once more with Theroux, her co-star from Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Recently, Theroux has been seen in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and The Girl on the Train. Notably, Novak, who is well-known for The Office, directed the 2022 film Vengeance. Chalamet rose to fame with her work in The Sex Lives of College Girls.
The 2006 movie was adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s popular novel. It raked in a total of $326 million worldwide, and Meryl Streep received an Oscar nod for her performance as Best Actress.
